Hybrid Education for Students in Grades 6–10

Hello! We’re so glad you’re here.

Are you a homeschool parent or a parent looking to take a more active role in your child’s education? Are you searching for a flexible learning option that combines empowered academics with meaningful community experiences?

We are excited to introduce a new hybrid program being launched initially for grades 6-10 at Phoenix Montessori Academy in Huntersville, NC, designed to give students the best of both worlds. Your child will have opportunities to engage in a supportive school community while participating in Montessori-based learning, team sports, clubs, career exploration, nature-based field trips, and other enriching extracurricular activities.

Our program is built around the S.O.A.R. model:

S – Student-Centered: Learning is personalized to each child’s interests, pace, and strengths.
O – Observational: Teachers thoughtfully guide instruction based on each student’s development.
A – Adaptive: The program evolves to meet students where they are and support continued growth.
R – Reflective: Students are encouraged to think critically about their learning and experiences.

What makes our program unique?

Many hybrid programs rely heavily on technology to bridge in-person and at-home learning. While we do incorporate technology to support both parents and students, we remain committed to the Montessori approach, rooted in hands-on, experiential learning, independence, and thoughtful observation of each child’s unique development.

SOAR at Phoenix Montessori Academy, is an inclusive program that welcomes and values all students and families.
Our educational philosophy is rooted in Montessori principles, focusing on developing the whole child academically, socially, and emotionally. Students engage in hands-on, child-centered learning that encourages independence and responsibility. Multi-age classrooms support collaboration and leadership, while lessons are tailored to developmental needs. This approach integrates all areas of growth and connects subjects to create a meaningful, cohesive learning experience.

Schedule:

The schedule for our hybrid program closely mirrors the experience of our full-week students, providing consistency, structure, and a strong sense of community. Hybrid students are fully integrated into the classroom environment during their on-campus days, participating alongside their peers in lessons, group activities, and hands-on learning.

In addition to in-class instruction, hybrid students receive intentional guidance and support to help them transition confidently to their independent work at home. Teachers provide clear expectations, resources, and follow-up to ensure students stay on track and continue making meaningful progress throughout the week.
